More than 90% of Thai Internet users use smartphones to surf the Internet
In Thailand, smart phones are increasingly becoming the main equipment for people to surf the Internet. The latest data show that the use of smart phones in Thailand will be affected by income and geographical factors such as the impact.According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics of Thailand in January 2017, more than 90% of Thai Internet users use the smartphone to access the Internet, which is more popular than other devices. Followed by the PC, only half of the Thai Internet users use PC Internet access.
Although smartphones are important Internet devices, this trend is not consistent across Thailand. In the Thai capital Bangkok, more than 70% of the population uses smart phones; in the less developed regions of the Northeast, smart phone penetration rate is only 39.3%, although the mobile phone penetration rate reached 76.1%.EMarketer is expected in 2017 Thailand smart phone penetration rate will reach 43.8% in the next few years, Thailand smart phone growth will slow down. By 2020 Thailand smart phone penetration rate will reach 50%.
